Xavier's 2nd Party

Ingredients for a perfect birthday party.......Beautiful weather. Great friends and family. Food and drinks. Play equipment. Planes flying in overhead. Sugar and food colouring.
Xavier had a ball!!!! As did we. Here's some shots of the day:

The Aeroplane Cake.
Xavier was most excited to awake from his Saturday arvo nap to see this half finished...then most disappointed that he couldn't have any. All Saturday night we explained that it was for his party "tomorrow". Fast forward to Sunday morning....he awakes, I head into his room....he's standing in his cot saying CAKE CAKE. Still a little annoyed that cake wasn't for breakfast.

YAY, a truck!!!

Present opening (done in stints, as the play equipment was constantly beckoning):

FINALLY!!!! He got to eat cake!!! I hope to upload the singing of HAPPY BIRTHDAY and blowing out of candles when the computer cooperates.

See-sawing with cousin Kaylis:

Wheeeeeeeeeeeeee....you go faster with your tongue out:

Teddy Bear Cars and Tic Toc Teacups

My first batch of either....and I'm sure not the last. I tested them out on my birthday by taking them into work instead of a traditional cake. They turned out ok. I think next time I'll use chocolate to stick the bits on the cars, and sit the teddy's on top so they don't crack the chocolate. Can I just say how sad it is how small Milky Way's are these days!

THE CAKE

Yes, I decided to put pressure on myself and make Xavier's first birthday cake....a friend of mine said it was a bit of a right of passage, and I agree!

So, here is the fish cake that was Xavier's first birthday cake.

Thanks to Aunty Ami for helping me!!!!
